We did not want to leave and will be back, loved the hotel. Everything was perfect, including amiable and supper friendly stuff. The breakfasts were satisfactory with fresh ground coffee, cheese and also fried eggs, couldn't ask for anything better. The location of this venue just off the train station and restaurants and bars in town was absolutely perfect.

The view .. at first we had a room to the main road that we didnt really like..then we requested a room with a view (the mountains and waterfalls).. And it was the best view ever!! The staff was amazing.. The breakfast is good..
The furniture is a little bit old.. The small room we had, had a very small bathroom, but the bigger room is much better.the internet connection was very slow.. There is no elevator..

The location is very good. And Kandersteg is such a hidden treasure with the lake! It is a must for a true Swiss visitor! I can see from the many medals on display near the canteen, that the owner is a very committed and friendly individual. Our best part of the trip is the visit to Kandersteg, which is simply stunning after taking the gondola to top of the mountain.
Breakfast lady is not very enthusiastic, and was relectant to serve. Pillow is too holllow.

Positive, The room was really enchanting with a lovely wooden vibe and a surprising balcony view of the mountains. The breakfast was spot on for our hiking plans, and the shoe drying racks were a great touch after wet trails. Super clean and cozy!

Good atmosphere.Convenient location for hiking.
Some pettiness in billing (e.g. being charged for having hot water thermos to room). Cold & sometimes miserly beakfasts.

Location, very friendly staff, excellent service, good dinner (healthy and tasty). Balcony and bath.
Bathroom rather oldfashioned and bit smelly.

The location is fantastic for exploring the area. The breakfast offers locally inspired items, and the couple running the hotel genuinely cares about their guests, ensuring a warm atmosphere. Room 33 was particularly nice, providing comfort and space for relaxation. The scenic views from the hotel contribute significantly to the overall experience.
The pool area suffered from inadequate ventilation and a strong chlorine smell.

Location, alpine views, clean & tidy. Only had dealings with one staff member who seemed to be the owner, he was very pleasant & helpful.
No tea / coffee facilities, but is that due to 2 star?
