Charming balcony with breathtaking mountain views, convenient bus stop for free transportation, nearby attractions like Lake Oeschinen
Creepy vibes during nighttime walks, hotel access via gravel road makes heavy luggage cumbersome!!! Consider adding an elevator for easier access!!!

Spectacular mountain views enhance the hotel's appeal.
My experience at Hotel Alpina was frustrating. The Wi-Fi was incredibly unreliable, leaving me disconnected during my stay. Additionally, the common areas were dimly lit, making it an uncomfortable experience navigating around. Lastly, I found it inconvenient not having an elevator, especially while hauling heavy luggage up the gravel road to access the hotel.

Positive, The room was really enchanting with a lovely wooden vibe and a surprising balcony view of the mountains. The breakfast was spot on for our hiking plans, and the shoe drying racks were a great touch after wet trails. Super clean and cozy!

The location is fantastic for exploring the area, making it easy to access activities like hiking. The breakfast offers locally inspired items, and the couple running the hotel genuinely cares about their guests, ensuring a warm atmosphere. Room 33 was particularly nice, providing comfort and space for relaxation. The scenic views from the hotel contribute significantly to the overall experience.
The pool area suffered from inadequate ventilation and a strong chlorine smell.

Cozy stay with great views!
We stayed for 2 nights, and the family room was enormous! Having the loft with extra beds was super handy for us. Breakfast offered tasty options like fresh pastries. The only drawback was the faint smell of chlorine near the pool, which made it less inviting. Overall, great experience!

Unexpected warmth in cozy Kandersteg
Room had a charming wooden ambience that made us feel at home. Breakfast provided the fuel we needed for our hikes, especially the delightful warm croissants!
The staff seemed unavailable at times as no one was at the front desk, which was a bit unusual but not too disruptive.

Just a solid selection for a day tour in Kandersteg with good price-value balance. The coffee machine was a lifesaver, providing a quick caffeine fix before our hikes. Make sure to bring your own snacks since the dining options were limited after breakfast.

staying here allowed me to easily stroll to the nearby breathtaking lake oeschinensee, which is just under 4 km away, and I appreciated the short walk to the friendly restaurants nearby, like Bluemlisalp, only a few steps from my door, making it easy to enjoy the local cuisine after a day of exploring the area.

Great spot for a group trip! We checked out the Wiler Lauchernalp Gondola and Engstligenalp Gondola Lift for skiing and other activities. There’s also table tennis and darts for some fun downtime. Breakfast included fresh croissants and loads of options. The friendly host made us feel at home, and the area is perfect for outdoor adventures. Worth the stay!
We noticed the pool area had a strong chlorine smell, and the ventilation didn’t seem great. It wasn't very appealing to spend time there.
